WordPress: cPanel password protect wp-admin generates too many redirects -

i'm trying utilize built-in password protect alternative of cpanel protect wp-admin/ directory. problem when create rule , associate user newly created user, generates infine redirect sequence on directory. maybe it's because i'm logged in, i'm not sure. don't know how works in wp, since started writing articles smashing mag know possible because utilize same feature on backend site. help appreciated. thanks.
